does anyone know how to opt out of the 'new' postage system ebay are trying to change to after christmas - l've used DPD for years and am very happy with them but they don't seem to be an option under the new system

There is no way to opt out, the only exceptions are Letter / Large letter up to 100 gms / £20, and item being in certain categories. 

When listing if item is within the right category CUSTOM POSTAGE box will show and you can make your own choice. As far as I have seen there is no list if exempt categories.
