I have sold an item and the buyer has arranged a Courier to pick it up, the buyer has paid me for the item. I guess I’m a bit paranoid of scams but how do I ensure this transaction goes smoothly?
I have asked the buyer to give the Courier the collection code to give me when it’s collected but he hasn’t responded! Should I be worried about giving the item to the courier without a collection code?

Without the code you have no proof the item has been collected.
A buyer would lose protection for a courier collected item but they could claim they didn't collect and cancelled the courier collection and you would have to refund.
One more message to buyer you must have collection code or cannot allow their courier to take the item and will cancel and refund

To add to the good advice given, see this ebay link for more info.Offering local collection | eBay
You will see that there are options open to you to get the 6 digit collection code manually via the order details, prior to collection once the buyer has paid.
