Hello
Ive been intouch with customer that bought item and got a full refund but ive had no reply from them or any item back. Ebay tell me i should have received the item even if i voluntarily paid the refund. They tell me to keep in touch with customer which im doing but im getting no reply.

Hi
I sold an item to a customer and after a few days they told me they didnt want it, so ebay said its easier to refund in full and get the item returned, so i did this.
I have just messaged the buyer i refunded to ask when they posted the item. They told me they have received the refund but have disposed of the item and not returned it please can you help as it was an expensive item.

There is nothing that can be done.
You should never refund until you get the item back.
When you refund, Ebay close any open case and assume you don't want the item back.

You can ask for advice here - experienced buyers and sellers will try to help you.
Or you can get a callback tomorrow. There is no contact number for Ebay.

Nooo, I don't who told you to refund Before receiving your item back , but they were wrong.
Only once the item is back with you in the same condition as sent out should you refund, and only through an eBay case.
If you refunded outside a case, or before the item was returned, then it's now between you and the buyer . You can offer to pay for the item's return, but you cannot enforce them to do so.
