Hello hopefully anyone can help me, so I bought a gold chain off a business on eBay and it’s being sent to Authenticity , my question is how do they check it. Do they simply just check the stamp on the clasp or is it put into a machine to check entire gold chain. Are they 100percent trustworthy? With the inspection! How can they be 100 percent sure it’s real from just a clasp. Not much detail on how it works on here. Thanks people

The authentication process is not something we know about other than what ebay has published on its policy pages.

Nobody tells us any more than buyer is told.
Bearing in mind stories we hear, about bought items that have been authenticated, but when buyer tries to resell, it fails on second authentication, I would say it is unsafe to buy anything of value on ebay.

If you are buying from a business seller, you can return the item for any reason for a minimum of 14 days.
When you receive the chain, if you have any doubts, pop into either a local independent jeweller or a 'we buy gold' place and get it looked at.
A gold buyer would test the quality of the gold and the weight etc.

Just found out it’s cash converters that is selling the item so should be ok I guess
