Simple Delivery - Item Damaged

I bought an item which was delivered via Simple Delivery, but it was damaged.

When I message the seller it says:

"This seller is using the Simple Delivery programme to post this item. For postage related questions including lost or damaged in transit, please contact eBay’s Customer Service or file a claim by clicking on the purchase history section from My eBay menu".

How do I file a claim?  Would that be the same as requesting a return?  (It says the seller doesn't accept returns).

I am not wanting to cause an issue for the seller - the item was well packaged and I have photos of it before it was sent, I think it's just been mishandled by the courier (Evri).

Open a return case, just as you normally would.

Choose the reason 'damaged in transit'.

This will not cause any trouble for the seller.  Ebay may ask you for photos of the packaging and the damaged item.

Great thanks. Never had to return anything in the many years I've used Ebay 😂
