GSP

Sold an item that has arrived damaged through the GSP. Buyer wants a refund. As a seller I understand that the item is covered against damage and I should not refund. eBay telling me to take action immediately as it's been over a week but when I go to the item the only option is to accept the return or give a full refund. There is no option to ask eBay to step in. I'm told I need to let eBay know that the item was sent via GSP but how do I do this? Automated assistant is useless and I can't find a contact number for eBay.

Did the item sustain damage in transit?  That is the condition for you not to be responsible.  If it is a 'not as described' case rather than damaged in transit, you are responsible.

'You aren't responsible for item loss or damage that occurs after the item reaches the UK Shipping Centre. Once an item has been forwarded by the UK Shipping Centre, you won't be responsible for refunding the buyer if an eBay Money Back Guarantee or PayPal Buyer Protection case is filed against you for one of the following reasons:

  • A buyer claims an item isn't received or a package is damaged in transit'

As long as this is a 'damaged in transit' case, you need to contact Ebay and confirm the item was sent via GSP and you are not liable to refund the buyer.  Use the link below to get a callback.

Your buyer should have selected the 'Arrived damaged' reason for opening that eBay return.

Is this the case?
