Ebay have added the buyer protection fee of 4% + 72p.  The price the buyer can see is the higher price.  You will get your £300 (if it sells) and Ebay will get the BPF.

The new Buyer Protection fee, paid by buyers but added to private seller listings by ebay.

The Buyer Protection fee is calculated as:

  • A flat fee of up to £0.75 per item, and
  • 4% of the item price up to £300, and
  • 2% of any portion of the item price from £300 to £4,000

Or if you started the item at £300.01 - you would reduce buyer protection to 2% ++ Thus fee would be less to the buyer.
