Appeal

Hi

I had a fire last autumn and lost some items. Unfortunately, I did not remove some of the items from eBay and when they sold I was obviously unable to send them. As a result of this, my seller performance level is below the accepted 2%. I contacted eBay but they said I should have removed them from eBay. I contacted eBay but they said I should have removed them from eBay.

Today I have sold an item of clothing and when I have come to parcel it up it has got holes in it. I think I must have a mouse because I’m pretty certain the holes were not there when I listed it, but that was over a year ago and it has been hanging on a clothes rail.

when I contacted eBay I was told I should have appealed when I had the fire and she told me that if I sell any other items that I am unable to send due to damage I should appeal against having my seller performance lowered.

Can anybody advise me how to do this? I don’t want my performance level to get any worse through no fault of my own.

Many thanks in advance.

You should have contacted buyers & Ebay at time of Fire to explain,

they are not going to do anything after 8 months.

Always make sure items you listed are fit to post, especially as you are below performance.

Try contacting ebay 1st thing any morning, should get Dublin.

That's all you can do.

All the details about appealing are in the link below.

You can use 'Help & contact' to answer questions like this.

I used 'appeal a defect' as the search term.

I know I should have let them know but so much was going on at the time that it wasn’t on my mind.
I have spoken to eBay and accept their decision but was just wondering how to appeal today’s new problem of a damaged item that is unfit to send.
Thank you for your prompt response.

With your current problem, have you received a defect yet?

While not all buyers would believe the reason, before it gets to the defect stage, that is cancelling the sale using reason, not available or similar, you should always contact the buyer, explain what has happened, and if they accept your apology, use reason for cancellation as buyers request.

Result no defect. It is always worth a try, rather than give yourself a defect, which will stay with you for a year.

Yes and I have always contacted the buyer and sent them a full refund immediately. My feedback record is excellent but eBay has not taken this into consideration and has restricted my listings.
