What on earth have they done now?

All the Simple Delivery postage prices have shot up, including on live listings!

This is madness. I've only got a few listings up, I'm changing them back to custom postage.

Wake me up when it's all over!

Wish I had the option for Custom Postage. Now stuck either paying hugely inflated prices or not bothering at all 🤷‍

It's there, you just have to find it! 😉 Depending which webpage listing tool you see, and that seems to be completely random, the option to enable custom is in different places.

If you are offered Simple Delivery and there's a link just below it for 'Switch to advanced options', click that, and confirm on the pop up. The 'Custom Postage' button will then reappear and work as it did before.

If there's no link, open the parcel size pop up and scroll right to the bottom - then click on "Switch to custom postage"

Both methods currently still working

Which rate are you finding inflated?
I used RM LL up to 100g,  £2.70 by SD
0-1kg small/med parcel, £2.94 with Evri
1-2kg small parcel, £3.44 with RM

All those are the same price I was paying before SD

@ruby*ryan

On SD I currently only have 0-1kg medium parcel £3.64 with RM (yesterday it was £3.44)
1-2kg medium parcel £5.15 (yesterday it was £3.44)

The same thing happened last week. I sold an item, was overcharged for the postage because all the rates had temporarily changed, but eBay won't accept liability. The rates I see popping up don't match anything quoted in the SD help pages, either pre 20th May, or post 20th May. I also cannot access the <£10 <100g override for letter-post items. It's utter nonsense!

Only have RM selected.

Not offered a small parcel option, the are the only Simple Delivery options I have today:

Letter up to 100g - £2.72

Large Letter up to 1Kg - £2.72

61x46x46cm Parcel up to 1Kg - £3.64

61x46x46cm Parcel up to 2Kg - £5.15

61x46x46cm Parcel up to 15Kg - £10.80

61x46x46cm Parcel up to 20Kg - £10.80

That's the whole list.

Huge thanks for the info, but I lost those options weeks ago 😕 They were there, for a while, but I seem to be one of those who have been moved over to mandatory Simple Delivery. I even switched browsers and tried the app, just in case that helped, but no.

For me, there is no link to switch to advanced options on the main page, nor a link/button to select Switch to Custom Postage. It's the same if I edit a listing or create a new listing. Even if I click 'Sell Similar' on an old (pre SD) ended listing, those custom options do not come up. Frustrated beyond belief!

It's definitely not at the very bottom of the "Package Size" pop up?

Mind you, I shouldn't be surprised. I listed something last week and couldn't get Simple Delivery to come up at all, and still can't!

Not anymore. It used to be there, but now I just get this:

@realspark They clearly don't want me sending larger or heavier items. Perhaps someone at eBay is concerned for my wellbeing 😂

I don't think they're bothered about our mental health! 😁

If I could see switch to custom for heavier/larger items it would be helpful... some categories eg chairs don't offer simple delivery

There’s a few workarounds if you jiggle things around , sigh , that we have to

One is putting the weight to 20kg

then going back to the listing as if to fill in other details, then go back to the postage page and the custom delivery link should magically appear

I get this on my iPad

I haven’t tried it on the browser version as the switch to advanced options is still there for me

Different people using different browsers on different machinery at different times are seeing different postage rates. And goodness knows what their buyers are being charged. It's a recipe for disaster, or at least loss of trust on an epic scale.

Who knew SD would be quite SO epic?

Youre right - they should have called it the odyssey

Mind boggling really, all we can do is muddle through

i get eBay is huge and it must be hard for them but you don’t launch a system , and with fanfare, you haven’t yet figured out yourself

honestly
