Simple deliver postage costs what's happening

Prior to 20/5/25 Royal Mail 0-2kg parcels have been £3.44

New prices and services were supposed to start 20/5/25 with a small parcel option for Royal Mail and more bands

The prices seem to have increased on all live listings but none of the increased simple delivery options are there

EBay have not included the 1-2 kg 3.38 price they say they charge in its “programming”  is all I can think of 

everyone’s 1-2 kg small parcels are showing up as 5.15

it’s a 100% mistake/ommission , it has to be,  but the community team will ask the dept responsible to review things

if you can revise the items and see if eBay “recommends” 1kg then go with that 

otherwise try to change them to custom delivery and out your own price in

slapdash damage limitation but maybe someone has some ideas wat to do 

or maybe eBay will get finger out and fix it,  like …yesterday please

They are also missing the 2-10 kg option which makes anything over 2kg really expensive option to post using simple delivery.  They also have one option withing the collectable bottles category which you cannot even choose simple delivery.    They have done nothing about this fault despite being told about it weeks ago

Simple delivery ought to be just that, not a nightmare to navigate all the various problems

I was about to change some of my small parcels over to Simple Delivery but with the price now showing as £3.64 with Royal Mail, I've had a change of heart. The few existing items I have trialed with Simple Delivery have also changed from £3.44 to £3.64. 
Purchasing through Packlink it is still £3.35.

You  may not have the choice soon to stick with Custom Postage.

It's been a slow rollout,  but Simple Delivery will be mandatory for all Private sellers.

Some members are waking up to existing listings all being changed to SD,  and some now have wrong prices / postage / weights  showing. 

Worth checking all your listings when they change to SD.

I raised this and many other points regarding SD on the Community Chat yesterday (21/05). Click here to view the post. Not much of a response, other than it will be passed to the Shipping Team for review. I can't help but feel that eBay are never prepared to accept that more than one person is having a particular issue at any one time - they see every issue raised as an isolated incident 🤷‍

Thank you for raising the faults with the new postage system.  Exactly the same as mine.  I doubt they will actually do anything, but you never know.  I'm editing all my current listing to revert back to my own delivery options (strangely that the only option I have in one category anyway!)

I think they have to get it working first.    I had listed all my newer listings with simple delivery, but I'm now converting them all to my own postage.  Some categories don't even have the option for simple delivery anyway.  They had a situation a couple of weeks ago where the emails were down from eBay, so you never got any emailed labels and QR codes.  They never appeared once emails were working again, making it a potential disaster of shipping the wrong items to people

You may be able to change your postage preferences now,  back to Custom Postage, but it won't be for long!

Simple Delivery will be mandatory for all Private sellers,  and you'll find one day soon,   those postage costs have been changed by eBay to SD options.

When they do,  check your items carefully, as some sellers have  found errors in cost / size / postage prefs, entered differently !

If you still have the option to use Custom Postage, then that definitely makes sense, although as pointed out by @tressygirl it's wise to keep checking back as eBay doesn't let you know when they've moved you over to SD. I'm already on mandatory SD, so I have no choice but to keep myself  'Away' until these issues have been resolved.

I found out today that eBay have introduced a small parcel rate option for simple delivery.  Why have a 0-1kg option and a 1-2 kg, both at the same price.  Royal Mail only has one option, 0-2kg.  How about removing one of these and  actually providing and option between 2-10kg instead?
