TL;DR - Is there currently a known issue with the Custom Postage option not appearing when it should?
I've been away from the boards for a while (giving us all a break!), so am out of touch with the current state of play.
I'm trying to revise a listing for a fanzine (category: Comics, books & magazines > Magazines). It's currently listed at over £10, so SD applies. I've decided to lower the price to £9.99, but the Custom Postage option isn't coming up. The item is in an SD-exempt category, priced under £10.01 (excluding BPF), and weighs under 100g packed, so as far as I can tell, the Custom Postage option should be there - but it ain't, no matter what I try.
I recall reading a while back that SD was even more messed up than usual, and that the Custom Postage option was unavailable in scenarios like mine where it should be (both for lighter and heavier items). Is this still the case days (weeks?) later? And if so, is eBay actually doing anything about it? Is there a fix in sight?
It's so aggravating and time-consuming, trying this, that, and t'other just to get the custom option back - without success.
I decided, after much procrastination, to give SD a go. So far, I've not been impressed. I know it's a benefit to some sellers, but it doesn't really work for me, and I'm finding that many things I want to list just aren't worth it. I know this comment is currently doing the rounds, but it really does feel like eBay are subtly (or not so subtly) and deliberately steering low cost sales towards the exit.
