Is there now no option to add tracking if you dont use the forced ebay option ?

Hi 

I've sold an item and sent it via RM .And I can't seem to find the option to add tracking .The seller seems to have picked a 3/4 day option via hermes and with how the new scam works with eBay holding money until it's delivered I want to get it there ASAP . I wish I had just cancelled tge sale to be honest .

It was even terrible getting the buyers address to write it on a label taking half a dozen clicks .

Ebay is a shadow of what it once was and this will be the last time I use it .

You must send using the label the buyer bought and paid for in order that the tracking number from that label can be used to track the item

There is no way to add tracking if you used a different label, that isn't how SD works

The item will never appear delivered so not sure how you think your funds will be released on delivery, as the tracking number eBay need to see delivered is the one from the Hermes label

You will probably have to contact ebay to get the tracking number changed.   You can use callback on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

You can opt out of Simple Delivery, which is how buyers can choose postage during the listing process.   Look for the postage options menu icon on the right of the postage section.

No, they expect you to use the postage system the buyer chose when they entered the legal contract to buy the item with Hermes postage

Changing the postage method is changing the contract without the buyers consent

If you don't want to use SD, then (for the moment) you can remove it from your listings (until it becomes compulsory). 

You must use the method the buyer chooses to send items, you cannot change the method because you don't fancy sending the way they requested. 

Tracking numbers are linked to the label the buyer chose at checkout, so if you want to change this, the only people who can do this are CS.

ebay will watch the item number for the Hermes label the buyer paid for, if it never shows "dispatched" then obviously they will not send you the funds as it looks like you did not post the item.

Heaven forbid you want to get it there faster  and get paid within a week .

It's all about the money while making it more difficult

You seem to be getting very worked up towards other people about something which has been caused entirely by your own doing.  You have listed with simple delivery and having done so you absolutely have to dispatch the item by the method that has been paid for. 

As you have already been told, you will have to make contact with ebay customer services to try to get it sorted out. 

The problem and any delay to your payout resulting from it is entirely your own fault and is not because ebay is trying to delay the payout or tring to steal your money. 

Perhaps wind your neck in a little and listen to the advice you have been given (by people who have been on ebay for a long time and do actually have a good idea of what they are talking about 😉

Instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water try getting CS to ring you eBay Customer Service.

They will tell you the same and should offer you the solution

You're wrong ,as i already explained .

The solution is to use the desktop website 

The option to.add tracking was removed from the app  which makes 0 sense .

As for me using the "simple shipping " 

I had no idea it was even there or the default ,nothing prompted me to say it was the only option  .

The seller did pick ,I wanted to get it away quicker  at my own expense as i always have done on ebay and you act like it's a bad thing .

It makes perfect sense - if the postage is being provided through the ebay system, the tracking is automatically added to the order details when the postage label is generated, and therefore providing a means of adding tracking manually is pointless. 

There has been enough posted on these boards and within the popular press regarding the changes to the ebay payment procedures and shipping arrangements, in addition to the usual ebay announcements section that I find it surprising that there are still many ebay members who remain unaware of them.

They did offer the solution to not use the app and only use the desktop website .They informed me it was removed from the app in the update .

There is literally no reason to remove a simple feature like that other than to prolong the delivery .

And I can only protest by removing myself as a customer and that's exactly what I'll do .

And perhaps you should learn to read as 2 posts before your reply i already said I had talked to them and they gave me a solution of not using the app as it was removed and is now ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE DESKTOP WEBSITE ,

I did read and understand, and I clearly explained why it made sense to remove the option on the app - you seem to be the one who was getting aeriated earlier in the thread and not listening to the advice, and now seem to be pretending that it was everyone else at fault.

The option is never on the app regardless of your postage options ,even if you opt out  so no it makes no sense at all 

The only way to add tracking outwith is to use the desktop site .

Another Ebay inconvenience!!! I sometimes send items via our post room at work if I do not have time to go to the PO, then add the tracking myself! Now been forced to send via Ebay! What a real PITA!!!!
