Simple Delivery & Buyer Protection - Selling Low Cost Items

I sell low cost items with starting bids of 99p which often sell for 99p. With the old system my postage charges also allowed for packaging costs.

With Simple Delivery, Ebay now receives all the postage charges, which are higher (because of tracked delivery) than I was charging.

As a result, I am now only receiving the sale price (often just 99p) and have to cover packaging costs within that sale price.

With the buyer protection fees, the 99p starting bid now increases to £1.16 (10p + 7%).

I therefore need to increase my starting bid to cover packaging costs and to make it worthwhile selling these items. The result is that buyers will pay more for the item which is reducing interest and ultimately reducing my number of sales.

When Ebay removed their seller fees this was great for both seller & buyer, but now they are clawing this back by taking the postage costs and adding buyer protection.

Selling on Ebay is becoming less and less worthwhile particularly with low cost items.

Simple Delivery & Buyer Protection - Selling Low Cost Items

There is currently an issue that Simple Delivery not offering Custom Postage to oversize items,  lightweight items and those under £10,  these are all exempt from Simple Delivery.

There is a workaround.

From the link below Go To Solution and follow  the advice in Rick's answer to list your item.  You can adapt it to your lightweight items, or ones under the value of £10.
