Seller protection

I am a recent private seller all items wrapped with care and attention. Latest sale of pair of boots buyer sent pic of parcel with royal mail stickers that the parcel had been damaged in transit. Buyer stated only one boot in parcel. I will refund but where is the protection as a seller as I now have no item to sell and also have to pay for posting . I am shocked

Simple Delivery is mandatory for Private sellers, did you use it for this transaction ?

If so, ask your buyer to open a case for ' item damaged in transit'.  eBay will then fully refund your buyer and you get to keep the payout.

Take a look at the link below to understand how Simple Delivery works.

If you used Simple Delivery for this transaction, message the buyer to open a return case for item damaged in transit.

eBay will refund the buyer,  they will not need to return anything, and you'll get to keep the payout for the item.
