Refund scam

Hi I’ve sold a tent online in pristine condition, the buyer has received the tent and damaged it when putting the tent up, claiming that there was dirt on the pegs (after he had used them…) eBay have chosen to charge me the cost and put my balance on a pending -£850. I don’t have the money anymore nor do I think I should be refunding the buyer. Especially after I’ve not received the item back!! Can someone help please I really don’t want to lose out.

Refund scam

If buyer opened a Not as described case, then you should have accepted snd provided a return label.

As soon as opened ebay would put the money on hold, and no doubt only force a refund after proof of return.

You must follow the correct procedure, otherwise you do risk having a refund made without getting the tent back.

Refund scam

The buyer has damaged my item and I’m expected to return the money? Where on earth is the seller protection? EBay just giving a refund for someone who has misused the money back guarantee policy?

Refund scam

Seller protection doesn't really exist for item not as described returns.

When it does, it's only after the buyer returns the item.
