Hello, I am a business seller with 20 years service and as of Friday 4th April 2025 have started to receive Simple Delivery labels which have overridden my postage policy. When queried, Ebay agent advised that all Business Sellers would have no option but to use Simple Delivery from 15th April 2025 and had been advised. I have had no notification and not happy to post £180 items that exceed medium size parcel using Ebay label.
Is anyone else encountering this problem?

Could you give an example of a listing with free delivery having been applied? I couldn't see it on the few live listings I checked.
This must be a glitch if it has, but a serious one.

The eBay agent is wrong (no suprise there). Only private sellers are being forced to use simple delivery from April 15th, not business sellers (although I imagine it might happen in the future).

I suspect the OP was also mistaken, given that they haven't come back with the evidence.

Not saying it is this, merely that it could be.
Any of you notice the new "Business Seller" newsletters were rebranded to "Seller"?
If that is a platform wide change and everyone is just a seller, can't they hit everyone with everything?

Were you the one that asked about the newsletter in weekly chat?
Had your post deleted from what I understand.

I didn’t bring up the newsletter no.
From what I understand it’s best I don’t comment on any of my posts mid-week 😁. As petty as I may or may not have found the whole situation.

This has been going on for a while now, see: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers - UK eBay Community

It sounds like the agent made a mistake. There are no plans to mandate SD to business sellers on the 15th, this is when it rolls out to private sellers. I'll reach out to CS and have the call listened to.
If you could private message me with the transaction ID that was overridden I'll have a look into it. Something doesn't sound right there, it could possibly be tech issue.
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks @technthread,
I'll look into this to see what happened. Just to confirm, the mandate is only being rolled out to private sellers on the 15th.
Thanks,
Dave

Note to eBay on Postage.....
1. Postage is NEVER free, it might be in eBay's land of make believe but in reality someone has to pay for it.
2. Royal Mail put their prices up again today, the 6th price rise in two years, yet eBay STILL lag behind with the old prices listed, meaning any seller who uses eBay's postage system will lose money.
3. These prices although outdated, do NOT take into any account the packaging to be used, be it from a small to a large jiffy bag or even a box which costs money, but not a penny is allowed for this packing, or is it eBay expect us to swallow that too and lose more money ?
4. When I do 'Sell Smiliar' item, I do not expect to have to go through eBay's outdated new postage system every time, when it should re-use the postage selected before, which is why I selected sell similar.
Are the people running eBay a bit backward ? because it certainly seems so and it is quite clear they have never run an on-line business before in their careers.

So more different selling rules, now Private sellers getting more orders....
How to drive not only business sellers, but Private sellers too from the platform.
Are these people backwards, enticing everyone in with free listings and no fees, then adding an eBay rip-off money generating tariff called 'Buyer Protection', now forcing them to use eBay's totally outdated postal system that doesn't add a penny on for packaging.
All the while shafting Business sellers with a full whack in fees.
They really have lost the plot.

Hi Dave,
You did mention that:
"There are no plans to mandate SD to business sellers on the 15th, this is when it rolls out to private sellers."
My question is: is there a plan to mandate SD to business sellers on any other date ?
Asking for a friend 😉

How weird I am just about to buy some hard backed envelopes off you from my private account. Anyway… sorry to take this off topic.
