eBay Postage

I am not sure how eBay postage works vis a vis Royal Mail Collections. I have habitually been setting up the postage and printing off the label and then clicking on the arrange collection link which takes me to the Royal Mail site so that I can arrange collection.

But I have noticed that I get two e-mails from Royal Mail telling me that collection has been arranged. Sometimes Royal Mail staff knock on my door expecting to collect a parcel that has been collected the previous day.

Does this mean that eBay automatically arranges collection for me and that my going to the Royal Mail site to do so is superfluous? Of course since 1st May I am now wondering whether I am paying an extra 30p when I don't need to.

Does anybody understand this matter better than I do? (It wouldn't be difficult 🙂 )

eBay don't arrange it.  You have to after you've generated a prepaid label on eBay, then you book your collection on the Royal Mail website.  More info:
https://www.royalmail.com/collection

You can make sure your buyers have to choose Royal Mail by opting out of using Evri here:

eBay Postage

If you're buying Tracked 48 or 24 Collection there's an extra box right at the bottom of the page where you enter the package weight etc. where you can select your collection date.

Also for some reason Tracked 48 Collection is still free collection when you buy through ebay, not sure about Tracked 24.
