Yodel - delivery issues?

About 3 weeks ago, I ordered a book on eBay. The seller used Yodel for delivery. It seems to be stuck in the system.  The book was returned to the seller, with the claim that no one was at home. However, we were at home, and no one rang the doorbell. I disputed this, and the seller kindly resent the book via Hermes (now Evri). This was nonsense from Yodel, especially as the book was slim enough to fit through my letterbox. Thankfully, when Evri delivered it, they produced a photo as proof. I sent this to the seller. I don't know if the seller is out of pocket for postage loss, and I'm struggling to understand why Yodel returned it?

Now, I have bought a second item on eBay. It was posted on 5th May using Yodel, with an expected delivery date of 9th May. I am checking the tracking and still it has not moved to the next state "out for delivery". I am anxious and hope Yodel don't return this item item too without attempting delivery. 


Is there something going on at Yodel? 

This is what the tracking says:

06/05/25 20:54 Parcel collected by courier

Yodel - delivery issues?

Hi rajeshk4u, thanks for your post.

 

It'd be hard for us to confirm what exactly is happening with the delivery of the item in question since the delivery is managed by the carrier only. However, if the tracking information doesn't say anywhere that there was an attempt of delivery, and the item is still not delivered to your address, you are still protected. If the estimated delivery date passes (you can find your estimated delivery date in your order details), you can file an item not received case here (please note that this can only be done after the estimated delivery date passes).

 

The seller will then have 3 business days to action this and help you, if within that time frame you still haven't received the item or a full refund, you can ask us to step in and we will help you get the case resolved no problem.
