What is happening to eBay? It’s going down hill rapidly. I like others here have been selling and buying with eBay for 19 years plus. This is the first ( well second, as the first was a scammer, not sure this one isn’t either) I’ve been asked to send my items and get paid later. Tell you what I’ll ask Amazon, Harrods and Argos to do the same!! What company does this, I’ve sold over £3k over the years of my own goods, never have I sent the items without getting paid! But here I am being asked too, their reason, because I haven’t sold recently, well who has!! They have now sent a tracking number! I havent sent it! I’ve 100% ratings and bought and sold 527 items all positive, They have now In effect blocked me from getting paid anyway as they’ve decided to put a tracking code for Evri, I’d never use them only Royal Mail, and how the heck do they work their prices on that! I’m now frozen, I can’t message the buyer as EBay have mucked up my messaging system.

I know this is a duplicate post, but just to add to any other previous answer, if you are using the app or mobile browser to read / send messages, many members are also reporting issues with messages on those devices. We're told eBay are aware, and working on the technical problem. 🤔
For now to read your messages, switch if you can, to a laptop / PC and Chrome, that combo seems to work fine.
You do not have to use Evri, delete that service from your listings here:

No private seller gets paid before the items are sent any more. It's not because you haven't sold anything for a while, it's just one of their relatively recent idiotic policies. You get paid only after delivery. Simple delivery is a mandatory tracked 'service', so you get paid 2 days after delivery date. Taking away a seller's autonomy over how they want to post their goods, combined with buyer protection fees, not-so-simple delivery, and the fact that you have a maximum of a 3 day turnaround to send your items means that many of us are no longer selling. I keep renewing my "Time Away from Selling" banner and am monitoring the situation. However, eBay will need to put the clock back about 12 months before I will consider selling anything again. I just don't need the hassle. What was wrong with final value selling fees? You just factored it into your asking price! This all seems like a great way to ruin a great business.
