Hi,

I sent an offer to buy some wheels for a car on the 4th of November. The offer was accepted by a private seller.

This was to be collected in person. I’ve since changed my mind and want to cancel the payment. I messaged the seller on the 7th requesting cancellation and refund. And clicked on the cancelation option. 
The seller is now saying he’s not willing to cancel my order. The order is still with the seller and I’d need to collect for the order to be completed.

What rights do I have here for a Refund? If I don’t go through with collection and the sale isn’t complete, do I get a refund after 30 days? Can I get a refund through my bank? I just want to find out where I stand with this. I live in the UK and the seller is also in the UK if this makes a difference.

You can open item not received case, if seller does not refund escalate to ebay on day 4.

A seller does not have to accept a cancellation request, but in my humble opinion , for a collection item,  bit silly to not do so.

You've paid , so seller cannot even  cancel for ' Buyer has not paid' reason , would have resulted in a strike on your account, so as said , frustrating for the seller,  but silly not to agree to that cancellation request.

You've paid, so after 7 days open a case for item not received,  escalate on day 4 if not refunded beforehand.

Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may make,  and do not forget to escalate.

Thank you both. I do feel really guilty and have apologised to the seller about wasting their time.

So if the seller hasn’t agreed to cancel the sale and refund me after 7 days of the cancellation request, I need to open a case for item not received and if I still don’t get a refund, escalate the case on day 4 after opening the not received request?
