Ive just had an interesting chat with eBay's Customer Service department - it seems that existing listings will not have this crazy new Buyer Protection fee added! Apparently, it will affect new listings only. It's disappointing that eBay have chosen to go down the "Vinted" model route and say it's in the name of providing better customer service. as an eBay user of over 23 years, I can say that I have never had an unresolved issue with eBay and find the existing CS really good (unlike Vinted). This is all cold comfort to those of us who sell low value items which will inevitably be affected by these changes but I would suggest making your opinions on these changes heard. Perhaps the big plan is that eBay is no longer a place for those of us who continually clear out unwanted items but that would be a real shame! I wont be adding anything to eBay for the foreseeable.
