How do I get a refund for a Simple Delivery label not used?

I sold an item yesterday (freepost to the buyer) using an Ebay Simple Delivery label that cost £6.65.

I had printed the label but before packaging it up, the buyer messaged me to request cancellation of the sale, which was obviously frustrating .

I accepted the cancellation request and the buyer was refunded in full, however, I have not been refunded for the £6.65 label that I haven't used - how should this happen?

Having looked at Selling/Postage Labels tab, I am not permitted to cancel a simple delivery label and when I try to complete a refund request, I cannot move forward without answering the question that says 'which carrier did you use' - but clearly I didn't use any courier because I didn't post the item!

Any help as to how I can get my £6.65 back would be very much appreciated!!

Here you go, and the refund goes to whoever paid for the SD label:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.
