Free postage

Does anyone know whether any claims for postage refunds when NOT using simple delivery are being given. I know and have filled in the claim for refunds in the past within the 14 days and have given all the information but received nothing. Has this problem been addressed and sorted out by ebay or are people who offer free postage and use a different method still being charged and not refunded.

Although you have to apply within 14 days the refund can take 30 days.

If you triggered a Simple Delivery label and not used it but your own choice of postal service / cost,  then a refund is made if you use a tracked service and that tracking shows delivery, and you have to claim within 14 days. It's not instant I believe it can take up to 30 days for your refund to appear.

This is how refunds for unused SD labels work....

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.  Also ensure you add the replacement tracking number of the service used, and it shows delivery.

Yes but it did not work before. I waited from May to September and received no refund despite doing everything the correct way ie tracking reference, postal service used etc etc.

I wish to know really as to whether this has been resolved and anyone has actually received a refund

Did all that correctly and properly and received nothing from May to September which is more than 30 days. Even sent ebay agent copies of the tracking receipts but got nothing.

The question I was asking is whether this has been resolved and people offering free postage and using a different method are, in fact, getting refunds.

Only mentors can respond in this part of the forum.

Personally, if an item is set up with Simple Delivery as the postage option, that is what I use, so this is not an issue for me.

There have been similar posts asking the same question so you could tag your post/experience onto one of those posts or start a new post on one of the discussion boards.

Ultimately, I would say it is just easier to use Simple Delivery unless you have particular reasons for not doing so.

I like to send expensive items by special delivery as they guarantee next day delivery. Also the post office have problems reading the qr code and I don't have a printer.
