Account under review

My account is fairly new created 2

months ago to sell some items. However, last night after selling a laptop my account was placed under review and my payments are on hold. Was wondering how long does this usually take to settle. Thank you

eBay usually hold large payments for expensive items just to ensure that the seller sends the item and the buyer receives it and is happy with it. Payments may be held for up to 30 days, see eBay's guidance page beloiw:

Your completed items is showing that the laptop was sold twice, which may be confusing matters. Did you cancel one of the orders or did you have and sell two of them?

In the message you received there should be a reason for the account review. 
several reasons can include things such as the value of the laptop for example last night, types of goods being sold which may indicate you could be incorrectly registered as a private seller eg selling new items or taking things from packs etc. it could be issues with your DSR’s (detailed seller ratings) etc.

there should be some indication in the message though as to what eBay would like or want from you.

thesr things can take a few days upto a couple of weeks to resolve. We have no access to your account here so it may be worth chatting to CS.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. The reason there are 2 laptops is the buyer had the wrong address listed. Spoke to CS and they advised me to cancel the order and refund and have the buyer buy the item again once the refund has been completed. The item has been successfully delivered as I used Royal Mail special delivery and ensured it was dispatched the same day. As it is a large amount I think you are right that is why my account is under review.

They have not stated any specific reason just that it would take 5 business days to review my account and I am still able to list and sell on eBay but I am unable to withdraw any of my funds.

I think it's just a waiting game then, hopefully your funds will be released soon if eBay CS have mentioned 5 business days.

Thank you for your help. I guess I’ll just have to wait then until it is all clear. I spoke to CS about this and they just reply back with the generic message of its helping creating a safer community etc but gave me no specification on why my account was placed under review.
