I'm afraid those are eBay's rules and nail clippers will be classed as a sharp / bladed item!
Without a credit card, you cannot buy this item, as you need to prove you are over 18.
Can someone with a c. card buy this for you, or perhaps you need to look elsewhere.

This is some kind of joke, on Amazon you can buy it with a debit card and here you have to have a credit card to buy a nail clipper
Joke

Nope no joke!
If an age verification notification appears, under eBay's rules, their bots can be over sensitive it's true as to what they class as ' bladed / sharp articles', you will need a c. card to buy this item.

Can't my debit card be used to verify my age? Does that mean I need to get a credit card to buy nail clippers for 4 pounds?

Sorry, a debit card can be owned by anyone of any age, but you have to be 18 years or over to own a credit card hence it's used for verification purposes and the cheapest method for eBay to use.
Providing other forms such as driving licenses, passports, birth certificates, would take an army of staff to verify those documents, and would result that cost incurred, being passed on somewhere to members.
Whether it's a £1 item or a £1000 item, rules are the same, price will not matter.

I don't understand this policy, I bought it straight from the manufacturer and no age verification was needed, so I salute the entire Ebay team who came up with this policy.

We are members like yourself, and can only pass onto you, eBay's policies and rules, but I agree the wide range of items included in ' bladed or sharp' is extreme, but it's eBay's house and their rules !
