Oh don't worry, it will continue like this and it won't change....
eBay (in their efforts to screw up the platform even more) have decided that unless you pay them extra and 'Promote' your item, they will keep it down the listings and virtually invisible on page 15 of any search.
They've been 'hiding' items for years and denied it, now they are actually admitting it
To ensure this non-visibility they have manipulated the search engine to do this, so basically it isn't a search engine anymore and only shows you what eBay want you to see.
Yes indeed, the Shop Fees have arrived, and in four days I've had two sales, the money of which goes straight into eBay's pocket. So I am basically giving my stock away to eBay now.

Or, they buy on 23rd December, choose 2nd class post and complain it hasn't arrived before Christmas !

"UK sellers are not being looked after at all."
A bit of an understatement.....
eBay have abused their position for years as the leading on-line market place, and part of that abuse was hammering business sellers with higher and higher fees, 400% higher fees than when I first started on here.
Now Prvate sellers get Free Listings, so we as businesses on here are basically subsidising them.
THAT is why ebay want you to grass people up selling as private sellers if they are a business, as they can't make any money from them and it is us who is now keeping ebay afloat. We are now being hammered to the point it is really not worth being a business on here anymore.

I put a similar post on yesterday Saturday 2nd November 2024
One sale yesterday for £3.45
One sale today for £9.99
From 2,730 listings
I had one offer today for £27 for a book I had on for £34.50 so I went back & explained that after all costs I would make £1.63 & so not worth my effort, I countered with £29.99 & explained that even at £29.99 I was still £4 cheaper than the lowest seller & they countered back with an extra 99P hence to say I declined.
If this is how it is in Q4 then I think the ebay bubble has well & truly popped!

It popped along time ago IMO

They e already grabbed my shop fee. All what I earned today wiped out by the shop fee. But I did very well on another platform on Sunday

All my geraniums are still in flower with buds starting to open.
I hate this weather, been dull and dark all weekend
04-11-2024 5:36 AM
I've got tons of stuff, band t shirts, funko pops, books, old postcards, coins etc.

I keep getting switched over to .com as well. I was looking for some charms and got sick of it switching as I swear I went into .uk but it swopped to .com. So went over to Etsy and bought what I wanted there instead

Got the same dates on shipping.

Be in trouble if it's a knockoff . Although I've been invited to sell on there. Already sell my Sterling on depop , just I've no confidence to show myself .

Mines down to one a day if I'm lucky

Same here, made £40 odd this week, and eBay pulled my shop fee from it. Did a whole lot better on another site I'm on. £56.00 in one day

Some buyers like to get Halloween and Guy Fawkes' Night out of the way before starting the big organisational and often stressful project of buying Christmas presents. So hopefully things will start to move soon. And some buyers wait until the last moment to buy.
For instance, I start making Christmas cards and gifts in June or July, obliged to really as that's when crafting manufacturers release their best ranges, with a big promotional push (one big firm's slogan is "Christmas in July"). Whereas my hubby can be found hunched over his laptop, Christmas shopping, STARTING from about 18th December.

Predictably, another week with no sales. My auction for a rare bowl mentioned earlier ended with 17 views, 3 watchers and no bids.
As always the watchers are still hanging-on, waiting for me to send them an offer. Even for a private seller ebay's a depressing waste of time now, even without the pressure of trying to earn a living from the site.
Millions of buyers? It's more like a haunted house with a few ghostly Watchers flitting from item to item but rarely buying.
Is it free to sell when, to have any chance of selling anything, you have to pay fees to promote?
I've even given up hope that the spell-check will be repaired, does anyone at ebay care that the site is falling apart?

Some buyers think they have unlimited to-and-fro. Would it work if a rule was brought in to make a best offer in only one go?
I believe that with the automated procedure (as opposed to via eBay messaging) sellers can set an amount so that any offers below that amount are automatically rejected, saving time i.e. avoiding timewasters.

Last sale was Saturday night, also part of eBays 10% off promotion. Very very odd.

"Christmas rush",.................the only rush i can see is people leaving ebay once NINO's and GPSR come in in December and January....ebay's "done" and Jim Cramer once said.
04-11-2024 8:14 PM
Yes it keeps happening to me. Makes me wonder how many buyers this is happening to and like you just give up and buy elsewhere

I'll be doing boot fairs next year because I'm sure I can make more money with so much less stress I used to be able to guarantee selling £200 to £300 per week but now I'm lucky if I make £100.
I think this Christmas will be the final test to see if things improve. I did however have a reasonable weekend although no sales today so maybe I've had my turn this week
