Unable to Cancel Shipping Label not Used

So, eBay Simple Delivery programme charged me £5.54 for a shipping label which cost me £3.55 on the Royal Mail website. I printed my own label, shipped the item, customer is delighted with my item, and I still can't cancel the eBay unprinted, unused label. So, all in all Simple Delivery is a rip off! Furthermore, my order is showing "shipping overdue" as I haven't printed the label. Phoned eBay and an agent simple told there's nothing to be done

Triggering the Simple Delivery label should mark it as dispatched, but any messages to send will soon stop.

Refunds are made to whoever paid for the unused SD label.

• If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

• If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.
