Postage Difference?

Hi , sold an item and had the postage set as buyer pays and to use Evri which was priced at around £6.00. I then changed my mind and selected Royal mail 48 tracked and purchased the postage label via eBay which itself was nearer £7.00 and selected  for it to come of the funds for the sold  item  once they became available.

Question is will my total pay out be just minus the extra £1.00 postage difference between the two different postage options?

Re: Postage Difference?

Thanks for your reply, blackredbeetle. And yep, that was clear, don't worry. 👍

I've just taken a look there, and it looks like your buyer did pay  £5.64, and you did purchase a label for £6.65. So, because this was a changed of mind after the transaction was placed, the difference (£1.01) will be you and we won't be able to change that.

However, I can see that funds are still being held. Once this is released, you will receive the amount for the item, and the shipping label that buyer originally paid for (£5.64 - and this will make up for the shipping label you purchased of £6.65), so to answer the original question, you will receive the £5.64 once the funds are released and that will compensate most of the shipping label you purchased, but as I said before the difference of £1.01, will be on you this time.

For further clarification, you were never charged for £5.64 initially, so you won't be down £5.64. You were only charged £6.65, and once the funds are released, the £5.64 will compensate most of it.

I hope this clarifies everything for you, but if you have any questions, please let me know. For better visibility, I'd suggest going to your payments section here, and there you will be able to see a full breakdown. 👍

Thank you,

Marco

Re: Postage Difference?

Hi blackredbeetle, thanks for your post.

Yes, if you ended up picking a more expensive service, then you will see the difference in your payout, or we might charge your selling costs payment method for it. If you keep an eye out in your payments tab, it will be shown to you right there.

Thank you,

Marco

Re: Postage Difference?

What your buyer paid

Subtotal  £260.00

Buyer protection fee  £11.12

Postage  £5.64

Order subtotal : £276.76

What you earned

Order total  £276.76

eBay collected from buyer

Buyer protection fee  -£11.12

Selling costs

Transaction fees £0.00

Postage fees -£6.65

Order earnings  £258.99

Thanks so much for your reply .....

Under track and manage your packages it says £6.65 paid for Royal Mail postage label .

Now confused 😕 am I only paying the difference between the two different postage rates ?

Not sure what you mean by " we might charge your selling costs payment method for it "

Re: Postage Difference?

Hi pokeboxuk, thanks for your reply.

Could you please confirm the item number, so I can take a look for you?

With selling costs payment method, I mean that if the price is not deducted from your payout/eBay balance, it is charged to your selling cost payment method. Basically, if there isn't enough funds, we use a different method.

Thank you,

Marco

Re: Postage Difference?

Hi Marco once again thank you so much for your continued assistance.

Okay the item number is : 197152344302

When I received payment for item number : 197149591217 it was minus £6.65 which was the postal charge for the RM48 label purchased for the above item.

When I check the payment details for 197152344302 it states the buyer paid £5.64 for postage.

It looks like I have paid the postage fee myself off £6.65 and also the difference between the two postage  amounts so £1.01 so a total of £7.66

Whats happened to the £5.64 paid by the buyer themself. ?

Hope I have explained the above clear enough ?

Thanks again Marco.
