I paid for postage through packlink and sent it on the 30th aug, it's been successfully delivered on the 2nd sept. I've now (15th sept) received an email of packlink stating that I had extra charges for incorrect size/weight. It seems odd that I would have an email saying to pay an extra £2.50 for the incorrect size/weight even though the item has been delivered
does anyone else have this problem?

This is a common packlink tact and is always WRONG!
Immediately go to your Paypal account----> Wallet--------> Subscriptions:
DELETE the packlink subsciption or they will just take money when they want to.
My advise would always be, go straight to the postage / courier supplier and purchase directly from them through their official website and STOP using the scamming middleman eBay Packlink for postage. It causes more problems than it's worth, so DUMP it:-)

OLA,
I have had one of those emails from PackLink, claiming that I have underpaid postage. Apparently Evri are claiming my sunglasses gained over twice their weight in the post, weighing in at a whopping 1.9kg when checked at their hub. So they are trying to charge me an extra £3.18.
So, I removed them from automatic payments on PayPal to block them from taking the charge, responded to the emails stating I refuse to pay, left them a negative review on trust pilot and will boycott them in future, using couriers or royal mail instead.

Thank you for your input on this thread. I went straight to PayPal and took PackLink off as soon as I read it. I think they have tried, and failed to take the money automatically, then followed up by sending me an invoice, which will not be paid.

Sorry for bumping an old thred but I have had this problem for the first time this week. Sent a parcel on the 10th of March and was charged £3.18 extra on Thursday. The parcel was under 1kg but it was a nice roud 1800g according to evri.

It won't be Evri doing this, but packlink. Packlink are know for demanding extra postage incorrectly. It almost never happens when sent directly with Evri.

Just an update on this. I received a refund for the extra charge, they did so as a one off they said.
Last week I had another extra charge, this time it was on a webcam that weighed no more than 100g that they said was over 1kg, they asked me for proof of the weight of the parcel, I replied that if they are going to overcharge it should be them providing proof. Today the have emailed to say it was Evri at fault and the charge was automatic and I will be refunded.

I've had this happen to me an managed to get a refund when I complained, however I have now had notification of payment from my PayPal account for an invoice from Auctane for an amount but there is no breakdown of the invoice amount. I will be trying to get to the bottom of this and make sure i don't use Packlink again.

Thanks for the insight into cancelling the automatic payments in my PayPal account. I couldn't find them in the wallet but by clicking the gear icon in the top right you can click on the Payments Icon roughly in the middle of the screen, second line down; this brings up payment options and Automatic Payments is the third icon down. From there you can view the active and inactive automatic payments and cancel them as required (in my case I cancelled them all including the Packlink company Auctane)
From now on I shall revert to the good old fashioned method of doing it myself that worked for years without hitch.

Hi,
perhaps just my lack of due diligence but is everyone aware of the below 'rules of carry' regarding antiques imposed by Packlink but not supported by Yodel;
Considering eBay was started and advertises as a "Preloved" site it seems odd that their preferred courier system, prohibits the transportation of any item made before 1974 or technical item made before 2004.
I guess we all know someone we like very much (eBay) who has 'that frend' who we just wish they would drop (packlink).
Happy selling and joyful buying to all on this excellent site but do yourself a favour and sort out the transportation without the malevolent influence of packlink.
Sincerely,
R4U

Well I had the same recently. Packlink have taken money out of my account saying the parcel was the incorrect weight. I contacted them only to be told I had to prove the size/weight of the parcel by sending a photo. This is absurd. Who is going to photo every parcel they send. There is no way 3 magazines in a thin box weigh over 2kg. I have wondered if it's some sort of scam. Very frustrating & makes you not want use Packlinck any more.

Don't let packlink get away with it.
Try disputing the packlink payment with PayPal.
I've seen a post from a seller somewhere who got their money back that way when packlink took money from their PayPal account for an alleged overweight parcel.

Ive had another incident with Paclink/Evri from the same set of items for sale namely a suitcase that was over size. It was well within the weight and length limit but when you drill down into Evri's sizing restrictions it is not a straightforward volumetric rule but worse than that; nowhere does it state what to do if your item exceeds the limit (not that I can see).
Therefore i had to pay the excess charge which was more than and in addition to the original fee even though the suitcase had been delivered before the "fine" had been levied.
A strong case of caveat emptor.

They used the same excuse for not paying the insurance on a plate that got broke dating back to the 1920's (they said their insurance didn't cover it). What point is there of using a courier who doesn't cover antiques when they have offered the coverage value in their insurance postage price and then use that as an excuse not to pay out especially as there are literally of thousands of antiques sold on eBay! As others have said, I no longer use Packlink to obtain my postage but go directly to the courier website and use the postage from there and I have not had a problem since.

Yh I've had them do this.. After seeing trustpilot reviews it seems their. Stealing £3.18 extra from people's banks everytime. Totally theft and fraud. Especially as a I know bikini sent that wpuld fit through letter box wpuld never be to heavy for evris 2.95
. Trying to total it up to £6.12 postage after delivered is a scam.. tbh I find it very Dubious that a lot of these selling sites even vinted claim the label only covers upto 1kg when in fact if you buy that label direct with evri it's 2kg.

I went to subscriptions but packlink didn't show. So I don't know how to find them to block.. though I've removed option for ebay to deduct fees from my bank, also not seen the money they claimed to have took go out my account so maybe my bank declined it. If not will report unauthorised transaction

How did you pay for your packlink label?
04-06-2024 10:24 PM
I'm not on PayPal. So how do you cancel or unsubscribe from them on ebay. I've seen No way to do this. They don't appear anyway on my ebay payment ir selling account weird. I've had to switch off my selling fees option now. Ebay are shocking and it's a total rip off same as vinted they round the weight to 1kg on vinted for small medium & large parcels despite the fact evri us 2kg minimum if you pay direct. Tbh though you don't get this problem through vinted so it's definitely Ebay/packlink pulling this scam
