New tracking number

Hi. I was posting my parcel and the machine at the drop off crashed. Therefore I couldn’t post the parcel. However the app said I have sent it.  I have been to the post office and paid for postage and let the buyer know and sent a new tracking number. However I am worried Royal Mail and eBay will say I haven’t sent it as it’s still under the original tracking number. Thank you

The option to upload a different tracking number when a Simple Delivery label has not been used is no longer available.    The option to add it to an "Item not received" case would still be possible.   Letting the buyer know is all you can do now.

The item will show as posted because you opened the label.

You can't update the tracking.

You have let the buyer know and, if the item did not arrive, you could add your tracking to any case opened.

That is as much as you can do.
