The theft of parcels from from the doorstep has become so widespread that the police advise buyers to consider using click and collect services instead.
Fortunately for you - but not for your buyer - eBay's policy seems to be that once an item had been tracked as delivered, the seller is not liable for what happens to it afterwards. So if your buyer opens an item not received case and you can provide a tracking number that confirms delivery eBay is likely to support you. If so, the buyer will not be able to leave negative feedback, or if left it will be eligible for removal.
This of course is entirely eBay's policy, and not necessarily the law, especially for deliveries by business sellers. However, this is eBay's site and we all agreed in the user agreement to accept their policies and decisions. Delivery issues have become one of the biggest risks of buying through eBay.
