Dangerous item

Hello,

I bought a replacement battery for my Black and Decker strimmer this summer. I have used it a couple of times. last week I was contacted by ebay with the following information:

We take product safety very seriously. We’re reaching out to you because an item you purchased may have been recalled or pose a safety hazard. We recommend that you stop using this product. If you have questions about the item(s), please reach out to the seller or the manufacturer. Item details are listed below.

Item has been reported and tested by UK Trading Standards. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 (GPSR) because it poses a hazard of fire / explosion.

If you have any problems, we recommend that you contact the seller from your Purchase history and try to reach a resolution.

Item details: For Black+Decker LBXR20 Cordless BL1518 BL2018 18Volt 3.8Ah Li-Ion Slide Battery

I have contacted the seller twice but they haven't replied to me. Much as I would like my money back, I want to ensure that they are no longer offering this item for sale. Other purchasers may not be as lucky as I have been not to have it ignite or explode in my face!

This is my second time of buying from ebay the first I had to return as the item wasn't what was advertised by the seller and now I have had this alert about a product sold by this seller.

I don't think I have the confidence to buy again from ebay!

There doesn't seem to be anyway to contact ebay to tell them that the seller isn't responding to being told that they are selling dangerous items.

Ebay just pass these messages on, they won't get involved with sorting with seller.

If UK business seller and they are not helpful, contact citizens advice.
