Hello eBayers, I have had more than a fair share of sellers cancelling my orders after I have paid,
I guess they did not want to sell at that price, or they have been offered a higher price when the bids had closed, and then I had to wait to get my refund, I think it is now time for eBay to take action If the buyer reports them, then they check if they have had emails offering more money after the auction has ended if so they can ban the buyer offering more money and also the seller, It is time they looked after the good people and get rid of the bad.

What reason are the sellers giving for the cancellation?
Refusing to sell at the end price would give them a defect and they can't afford too many of those.

You should have received a message from eBay saying something like 'you've received a refund for this item' and the reason given by the seller. I think the seller has to give a reason. Sometimes they say 'the buyer asked to cancel the transaction' even when that is not true. It might be worth checking your messages from eBay in case this is what has happened.

Regardless of whether or not the seller provided you with a reason for the cancellation, make a note of the item listing number and contact eBay Customer Services about the matter. When you get through to the eBay representative make it absolutely clear that the seller cancelled the sale without your consent, and did not give you a reason why. It won't result in the seller changing his/her mind and sending you the item that you wanted but it will be noted by eBay, and if the seller ends up getting reported for this type of thing too many times then he/she may well end up with eBay hitting him/her with a permanent selling ban. If that is indeed the end result then the seller will not be able to do the same to other buyers that he/she has done to you.

Way way too much of this going on and if the seller/s have a minimum price in mind that they will sell their item/s at then either start the listing/s at that price or use Buy It Now.
Back in the day when I used to sell on here I used to start all of my items at 0.99p obviously in the hope that they wouldnt sell for 0.99p and a lot did unfortunately or not much more and I honoured each and every sale.
Buyer asked to cancel the sale when I clearly never did is out of order.

If you decide to leave feedback for the seller who cancelled your purchase without your consent make sure that you leave the appropriate negative feedback to warn other potential buyers. Something along the lines of "Bought item and paid quickly, but the seller cancelled the transaction without asking, or even providing a reason why" ought to stick on his/her feedback history forever, as it doesn't breach any of eBay's policies with regards to what can and cannot be said in feedback.

"ban the bad sellers, and bad buyers."
Totally agree and that should include buyers with a vast number of bid retractions.

unfortunately any mention of eBay can get the neg removed.

I know that - that's why I advised the buyer to phrase the feedback in the manner given in my second reply, as it makes no mention of an eBay case being opened. It merely states that the buyer paid and that the seller cancelled the sale without stating why. By avoiding making reference to eBay the buyer has a better chance of his/her feedback remaining on the seller's feedback history forever.
