For the third time this year I've ordered something on ebay and had the delivery method changed. This is always business sellers doing this
I don't use couriers and always check the delivery method before ordering so it comes by RM on days I know I will be in.
This morning I got the dreaded "we've got your parcel" email from evri. I have checked back on the sellers listing and the only options they give are RM No mentions of other couriers anywhere and when I payed for the order it stated RM.
This is the third time this year I have had this happen to me and on neither of the last two occasions have the items arrived on time, instead it's been the "apologetic" , "sorry we're experiencing delays" email that I have received.
Can a buyer use INAD to return an item that has not been delivered by the method described in a listing?
As a private seller and a regular viewer of the sellers forum, there are plenty of business sellers on there complaining about private sellers acting like a business, but in all the years I've been on ebay all my buying problems, (bar one cheapskate trying to re-use a franked stamp), have been with business sellers.

It's been stated many times that you can use INAD for items that arrive late, but I don't remember reading about any examples where an item arrives on time but by a different carrier. Perhaps get a callback from eBay CS (early morning more likely to get Ireland), or ask staff on the weekly chat:

This did come up a month or two back. For some reason your wording reminds of an earlier thread - I don't know if the two were the same. Anyway, if I can remember correctly someone from ebay, possibly kat, said something about there is a policy that sellers must use the courier stated; but in reality ebay generally don't do anything if they don't.

There's no mention of that being a valid reason here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-poli...
