ebay allowing obvious counterfit items

ive reported a counterfit item to ebay thats being sold as real and linked evidence showing its counterfeit but apparently when i got the report back ebay said it doesnt break any of their rules or guidelines. Literally makes no sense to me.

eBay cannot act on reports from members saying articles are fake / counterfeit,  as the messages could be coming from a disgruntled buyer,  or even a competitor.  eBay do not physically see the item and cannot judge just from photos.

What they do take notice of is cases.  If enough buyers open case for item not as described for those items resulting in an abnormal number of refunds,  this raises red flags to eBay,  and they then act with selling sanctions or even selling bans.

I've seen elsewhere a recommendation that you report it to the brand owner, and let them take it up with ebay.
