Verification of age

Tried to purchase a chainsaw on ebay but had to verify my age by credit card.

I have only a debit card which I use to buy on ebay, no problem there, but not acceptable to verify my age!

My ebay account state my name, date of birth, address, phone number, NI number, what more do they want?

I also have been a member since 2006!

The mind boggles!!!

They want you to pay by credit card,  that's all they accept.

A chainsaw is classed by eBay as a bladed item and the only thing they will accept to prove that you are over 18 is a credit card.

So what is the point of having a account with ebay stating all my personal
information?

You'd have to ask eBay about that.

If you want logic and consistency you need to look elsewhere
