Exposing bad sellers (redacted names)

Hi,
Please can I get some people views on rude sellers & also the notion of why the seller is heavily protected from criticism.

I've had recent bad experience in which I attempted to buy 2 items, these items were actually sold to me & the payment went through pay pal but the seller then cancelled the order.(the payments were complete messed up, showing as multiple split payments & such, paypal hasn't offered any explanation for it & the usual ignoring stance, while I've got the refund, I am also not happy with the messy receipts that ensues.

I've taken the step to post the conversations - while redacting vital details - with the aim to gauge other reactions as to why I am very disappointed & somewhat angry with eBay & PayPal lack of empathy or even a response to my raised complaints.

As you can see hopefully coming from an unbiased prospective, would you be happy with a seller talking to yourselves like this? would it instill you with confidence?

please add comments & views.

I was happy to buy the items still but now have found similar items but nicer & better.
I have no desire for anything now but if it creates a debate into what is acceptable behavior then I'm eager to do this.

It seems to me with no offense intended to eBay or paypal - the seller is heavily protected  - even with proof that the seller has acted & spoken quite appallingly.
if the boot was on the other foot I'd be banned for speaking to seller like this, indeed if I spoke to anybody in my further education or work I'd be instantly taken down a few pegs, there seems to be no middle ground, very poor really & it has made me question several purchases from ebay since & I've found other avenues so long-term ebay has only damaged itself.

please comment & share.
Oh I'm happy to add context if needed, I just wanted to keep it short as poss.

Please note photos have gone on in reverse order sorry

And I'm not sure the OP has ever heard of something called the blocked bidders list....... because he'll now have been added to the list belonging to everybody who has read his thread.

I'm not sure what OP stands for sorry.

Blocked bidders list well it would be with zero reason or context.

Also interesting as I've been buying on Etsy for a long time now and I know a couple of sellers really well and they have informed me numerous times about having lists that won't sell to people based on views or what they buy or other things like background etc....

So I'm aware of such things going on I really am.

One reason why I don't have social media channels at all bat the one I use for education which is strictly a neutral and unbiased.

Well I was in sports science, I had a series of  work experiences within the industry and our core values was to be polite and professional with everybody, one of my tasks was to contact people from abroad regarding photo shoots .

I remember some of the people also on work exp spoke either too friendly and too rude and got the shove instantly.

Also the proof is here in the photos, I've only  added my feeling and thoughts as asked.

I've bought one of the items I wanted already from somewhere else in Mexico.

It's a common courtesy to keep your nose clean, therefore I'd not talk much with anybody while in education and work experience.

As for being insulting well I'm happy I haven't been insulting or targeting. The comments about the sellers actions are easy to take either side as to which I'd say I don't want somebody to take sides, I want people to say well if that happened to me I'd be disappointed and bemused .

Clearly that is not going to happen.

"I'm not sure what OP stands for sorry."

Google "acronym OP" and you will know for future reference.  It's a very common acronym on internet forums.

"Also interesting as I've been buying on Etsy for a long time now and I know a couple of sellers really well and they have informed me numerous times about having lists that won't sell to people based on views or what they buy or other things like background etc...."

I've never seen any seller on ebay say that they've blocked somebody for those reasons.  A typical reason on ebay is because the seller has experienced a buyer being awkward or difficult to deal with.

Acronym OP

I've never come across that one sorry until today

So op is shorthand for overpowered describing an indomitable player or character, not sure how that relates to me but my sarcastic side would say many things.

Original poster though makes no sense as the post came from myself.

I see MVP on la Liga a lot which is most viewed player I think or is it main viewing point ?

Yes those lists  regarding Etsy  , do  a deep dive or research on it and you'll see some blogs and such on it, I'm not gonna point you to them but lists where you decide not to sell to somebody for whatever motives, I believe they exist as so many people's info is readily available to view in 2025.

As for difficult customers yes maybe I'd agree but when I already purchased the items and paid via PayPal , the order and cash was cleared, I'm failing to see how that would be in my zone.

If anything by my mathes the proposed combined postage as opposed to the discounts on both items the amount difference would of been negligible.

The abbreviation OP is widely used in online forums and message boards with the meaning "Original Poster." In this context, it refers to the user who started a discussion. For example:

  • Jack: What do you mean, I'm off topic?
  • Karl: Your comment had nothing to do with what the OP was talking about.

Do a 'deep dive' on Etsy?!  Perhaps the OP could do a long walk off a short pier.

Would Have or Would of?

I stopped myself….

I’m glad someone didn’t. That one really irritates me.

"So op is shorthand for overpowered describing an indomitable player or character"

As Google says, that's in the context of video gaming, not internet forums.

"Yes those lists regarding Etsy , do a deep dive or research on it"

Well no, whatever lists may be on Etsy are irrelevant to this forum.

You've been given a lot of advice on this thread, including some quite long, considered replies which must have taken the posters quite some time to write.  Has any of it been of any use, do you think?

Not much in it, from memory i asked would the combined discount be 10% I'd have to go back and look or redact the info and upload . Compared to the 2 items combined I understood the saving would be negligible.

Etsy is a good place, I don't believe a lot of what's said about it, sure I've had some damaged items but that's the ups or postal here, only had a couple of weirdos including some guy who emailed a few times but that about it.

Context needed for the reply

Who stopped themselves or from what

Not so irrelevant as it's a community of artisans selling items, eBay has gone from that old image of chepa goods to more like Etsy I can see, mixture of both.

If you mean online gaming then pass on it, I'm kind of the old school videogames though I'm only early 20 s , can't beat Alex Kidd or Wonderboy games

This whole thread has been a demonstration of why your seller refused to deal with you.

You haven’t listened to or tried to understand anything anyone here has said. Deba wasn’t engaging you in conversation, s/he was correcting your grammar.

You carry on. I’m done.

Oh ok well

context was needed then as I've had a lot of replies and while Indo have a pretty good memory it's not idetic memory .

The reply launched  with " I stopped myself",

No offence but please don't get angry with myself for having a bad day or such.

If your not engaging with me in conversation then what are we doing?

This works 2 ways , if your done, I'd put politely your done, your input has not had any bearing or helpful advice to boot apart from an insight into your character as having low patience or lack of empathy or understanding.

No offence but bye bye.

Hi everybody

Just gonna add thanks for all the input, I'm not sure why some people are getting irate with me, also I'm a little disappointed that 2 posts have been removed.

I've explained my position on this to eBay.

I'm finding the comments getting a little bit personal now.

As somebody who's doesn't use social media I can say I'm not missing much and I'm certain I'm the better person for not knowing all these etiquettes and so forth with eBay, social media.

Anyhowz I'll keep the thread going out of interest and see how it goes.

Hi no as the order was already completed, she did mention about combined postage or a discount, as I received 2 discounts for the respective items and thought the difference was not much , I ordered them, so my asking the seller for something is a myth.

Well they did lose both purchases I made os in effect it is their problem and hopefully they'll have guilt over it and some flak from other owners.

It's amusing as the comment or automated ai response the sale was completed .

The notion isn't myth.

It was completed

Bye bye
