Should legitimate businesses just move to a new private account ?

Ebay is clearly allowing businesses to trade from private accounts, we are all seeing it, Ebay is doing nothing about it.

So to be able to compete I guess moving to a private account is the only option for many.

From what I can see in the category I mostly sell in, loads have gone private. I know in RL that dealers are no longer selling on there because of free fee to private.

I am fed up with it but have plodded along and sales since Xmas haven’t been to hideous, but the main gripe for me is I can no longer sell to EU and NI. I cannot provide the necessary documentation yet all the private sellers can.
To me that is another incentive Not to become a business seller..

Are EBay really forcing people to become BS. I see a private seller in dolls who sells very expensive miniature dolls. They average between £3-500. She has a couple of different selling IDs She sells lots. Yet she is still a private seller..

The reality is that this is never going to go away, no matter how fed up we are with it and how much EBay are going to reassure us it is…

And as Santlache sales says. EBay is the place for certain items….

As a direct result of this action by ebay, we have closed our shop and turned our backs on them. Ebay have knowingly handed this gift to the less scrupulous seller as ripe for exploitation.

They have slowly and consistently alienated the  small business seller to a point where it is no longer a viable selling option.

The promoted listings fiasco, the useless search engine, their refusal to remove negative feedback that could be easily defended as out of order in a court of law, and now this , and the soon to be 'seller protection fee' charging private buyers a 'protection fee' when they are already protected against every possible  eventuality (whether justified or not!)

Not for us any more. You have to vote with your feet.
