WTH are ebay playing at?

I don't want ebay to choose where I have to take things to post them.

Just because there are drop-off centres near me doesn't mean they are usable.  You only have to queue up a few times for ten minutes to be told they don't have any room for your item to come to the realization that it is unworkable.

I don't want ebay to interfere with buyer protection fees.

I choose the postage option and insurance protection and take the loss if it goes wrong. That way I can keep my prices competitive. I have never found ebay particularly helpful in sorting out problems that arise in delivery or breakages. Ebay just add complications and delays - infinitely better to deal with the postal companies myself.

I don't want ebay to add random costs to the prices the buyer sees.

I want to choose the price - I don't want it to be £12.76 - I want it to be £12 - it is annoying and messy.

I want to be able to sell soem items for very little.

Do you know about delayed payments?

Only thing I think you missed there.

That's *bleep* too.

You can still choose your own postage price and method, but Buyer Protection fees are mandatory on listings set up by private sellers.

I do agree that it hits low value items really hard; a 99p item will have 4% + 75p added to it. It's a shame that eBay didn't make it chargeable on items over £5 only.

The only workaround is to bundle low value items together to sell as a job lot.

Yes - but the bit about not getting paid unless ebay are happy that the item has been delivered pushes you quite hard towards their  'simple postage' option.

It does, you just need to try and work out what works best for you with these changes.
