Before I start, I will just say I do NOT approve of SD being mandatory. But like everyone else, I've now been enrolled and it's stay or leave. I sold my first SD item last week. Yesterday, tracking showed as still Dispatched status (no surprise there, Evri are so slooow!) but my funds were released immediately, without even the 2-day wait from Expected DD. Today it's showing as Delivered yesterday... Anyhow, I presume that the SD status is what caused the early (AKA later than it used to be but earlier than 2 days after delivery date) fee availability. An unexpected upside? Or a glitch...???

Did the buyer leave (positive) feedback? That can trigger immediate payment - I think - I've not yet sold an SD item.

No, they didn't! I'm stumped!

I've sold quite a few items since mandatory SD landed on my listings and can confirm that if the item is marked as Delivered in your Orders then Payment appears 2 days after that event.
If the Buyer receives the item and leaves Positive feedback before the item registers as Delivered then Payment is released as soon as the system catches up with itself. If the Buyer leaves Positive feedback within the 2-day holding window, payment is released immediately.
Sometimes the system takes a while to align, particularly when eBay's weekly maintenance is taking place, resulting in apparent "glitches". Maintenance is either on a Thursday or Friday morning UK time (can't remember which) which is the middle of the night across the pond and therefore convenient - they've got to do it sometime...

Sounds like it must have been a glitch then, as I don't have feedback on the item and the payment was cleared for removal to bank account on the day of delivery. Oh well, I guess if it was an error, for once it was in my favour instead of eBay's!
