No 70% off Variable Selling Fees this weekend ?

I always get a 70% off variable selling fees  every 2 week and it is when I list.  There is nothing on the "promotions" area of my home page either.  Do any other private sellers have the same issue ?  From what I have read on forums it is not guaranteed, but I have never not had one.

No 70% off Variable Selling Fees this weekend ?

You may not have seen the reply earlier in this thread,  allow me to repeat it here:

Many are reporting no promo today, and a member contacted eBay Customer Support and received this answer:

'From time-to-time eBay reviews our ongoing promotional campaigns and may decide to suspend, change, or cancel them at any time. We have taken the decision not to offer promotions over the weekend of the 20th-22nd September 2024.'

Seemingly they are skipping this weekend's promotion but... just in case.... perhaps worth checking that Promotional Offer section from time to time, if it will be offered,  it will be sitting there waiting to be activated.

No 70% off Variable Selling Fees this weekend ?

Normally I receive those 70% Ebay Seller Fees Discount offers every two weeks on a Friday  (as regular as clockwork) - and have done ever since Ebay scrapped the £1 Ebay Seller Fees Discounted offer - after they switched to the Ebay Managed Payments system and cut Paypal totally out of the loop back in 2020. There can be either one or two months per year where Ebay haven't made that offer. But that's only because Ebay can only offer it twice per month (maximum), and not every month per year works out like that - due to how many Fridays there are in each month, which coincide to the date and time of the offer.

However, the very last offer I recieved from Ebay was just for a Sunday and Monday 8th and 9th September 2024. So, if lets-say Ebay management have decided on changing their offers of 70% Ebay Seller Fees Discount offers to just ( two days per week - Sunday-to-Monday - instead of four days of - Friday-to-Monday offers ) - then that means that the next offer should arrive on Sunday 22nd September 2024 for both the 22nd and 23rd September 2024. Well, I'm hoping that happens, as I'd sooner have a shorter-time-frame offer - than no offer at all.

Please see my reply above your post.

You are not alone, as no one has received the promotion  today, and a member  contacting eBay CS ,  has given the reply,  as explained above.

Hi, yes I saw you post - although I forgot the exact dates you mentioned within your post when typing mine out, oops ! - So given that was the response from Ebay, then there won't be a repeat of the last fortnight of a two-day-offer - from Sunday to Monday, as the 22nd September date they mention falls on this Sunday. Of course, they could do a Monday - to - Tuesday offer. Maybe they thinking of mixing it all up and offering it on many different consecutive days in the week - which could range from two, three or four days in succession ?

Like I said. Even a shorter-time-frame-offer, is better than no offer at all. It kinda leaves sellers left dangling - somewhat. Such as, do they Wait, or do they List - without the possble upcoming offer.

Personally, I always reduce the prices to the potential Ebay customers by 10% per item - every single time I get an offer from Ebay, which (of course) is more attractive to the buyers, as most of what I sell (at least in Vinyl records) exceeds £50 in price-point starting prices. So naturally, 10% reduction - especially of a Record in the many Hundreds of Pounds is much more attractive - especially with the costs of living crisis of recent times - and into the future, and even worse - is when Foreign customers have to pay Tax either at checkout - or force to by Customs in their own country.

I think one needs not to despair, often throughout the years,  eBay have skipped offering a promotionor two along the way.

It's not a given to recieve these promotions , it's a great bonus,  which many do not receive,  it's not offered to one and all .

I think they've created a rod for their own back.  They've done them so frequently that everyone now expects it.  I won't list unless its on an offer like many others so they will likely loose money as they won't get any fees at all for items that aren't listed.

Whatever their reasons, you can't sell if you don't list. Just carry on as normal. Put your prices up and add best offer if you don't already. See what happens. At best, you will cover the fees, at worst they will be listed and you can do "sell similar" if another fee offer comes along.

I always think of the offer as putting you at the bottom of the search pile anyway.

I've just spoken to somebody from Ebay Customer Support. They said that the system occasionally shuffles around these offers so not everybody will receive them that has done in the past. I didn't get offered 70% off either this weekend...

To be honest you can see why a lot of people are leaving Ebay. Once all the sellers leave then there won't be any Ebay left will there.

"EBay's loss as I'll stop listing" ?.

Doubtful.

They will probably make more from the sellers who had all of their items ready to go and just decided to up the price a little on each to weigh off the normal fee and list the items anyway.

Who knows ,maybe Ebay have dropped the offer completely.

Same here, all geared up for the offer but nothing has come.  My profit margins are so low I have become reliant on it.

I thought I had received the 70% off sellers fees but I was unfortunately mistaken. Who knows maybe in a couple of weeks we might all be lucky and receive the70% off....

Kind Regards

We both have received either 70% or 80% discount (for the last few months it's been 70%) regularly every fortnight.  Nothing this weekend either.  Ebay recently posted a change to terms and conditions of fees (this will be in your mesage folder) - unrelated to these discounts - but I wonder if they're part of the new T&Cs i.e.,: no more discounts.
