Is Advertising On Vinted A Much More 'Public' Experience Than Ebay?

Extremely Limited Offers and Interactions from the so called 'public' here on Ebay...

What kind of traffic do you receive on Vinted as a seller and is it worth a try?

Appreciate your thoughts! 😊

Sales are good over there but you have to be very selective what you list. Some items fly out and others will go stagnant fast.

Looking at your listings (as this

is very category specific), if you want the best possible prices for your stuff then eBay is still the best place for you I think. I am generalising a bit but Vinted buyers will want your items a lot cheaper. I listed a lot of new and sealed vinyl records there and sales were very slow. Same with games, rarer DVD’s and CD’s. I made some sales but it became clear that they need to be on eBay.

I listed clothing on Vinted and sales were great.

Communication on there is a lot easier. People find it easier to message you, it shows when the other user was last online, offers are sent more frequently, you get more relevant notifications and so on… it has a lot of upsides.

Clothing for people age below 40 shifts way better on that site.

Buyers pay return postage too, so are less likely to try and return a lower value item.

Yeah its very much 18-35 with a higher percentage of female users. Its almost cool items that do well. They have added a load more categories but its definitely fashion thats the strongest seller.

If you are doing it to move away from the ebay changes you'll be disappointed as its almost identical but no harm using both like many do already. Either choose the best platform item by item or cross list everything, nothing to lose really just keep on top of it.

It does feel more like a social media site that you can sell on more than anything.

And yeah the buyer protection seems questionable + buyers generally dont wanna spend more than a couple of quid(although not always)

Yeah I notice people dont wanna pay over there. I sold stacks of £2-4 tapes and records but the higher end stuff no interest unless it was a bundle.
