International Bids

Hi all

I have an item on ebay at the moment which is attracting international bids. Not sure what's going in as I do not ship outside the UK.  Any ideas what would happen if an international buyer wins?

If you have international postage in your listings they will see it, if you don't they cannot. Have you been added to global shipping without your knowledge? it happened to me Ebay just added it and i had to opt out. Caused a lot of trouble for me with a buyer i could not send to

I have just checked your listing and you don't have any international postage options. Some international buyers will have a UK address to send to like a forwarding shipping service.

When it sells, if you are not happy with the address on the order, you can cancel using 'issue with buyers address'.

If you do post it, please swallow the extra cost and send it by Special Delivery.

Hi thank you. I checked and yes I was! I have now opted out and ended the item and cancelled bids. Apparently it takes 72 hours for the change to take effect so will have to wait before listing again. I have never had this problem before.

Thank you so much. I just ended the item and cancelled all bids as I just didn't want to take the chance of any winning bidder being outside the UK. Also selling internationally, at least for me, does not make sense as the waiting time before being paid would probably be somewhat protracted further.

if an international buyer wins it cancel the order its not worth the risk and the hassle i know it happened to me and it would have cost me 3 times as much in postage so i just cancelled the order

You can prevent international bidders from placing bids, simply set your Buyer Requirements with this page, tick the box that says 'Block buyers whose primary delivery address is in a location I don't post to, then the box that says 'Apply above settings to active and future listings', then click on the tiny Submit link, bottom left of this page:

Once you've done that, if there's no postage price and method to their country, it blocks bidders.

This will only be applied to any fixed price Buy It Now listings you have up and running, it will not be applied to Auction style listings that are currently live, only to future ones.
