On Monday I posted one item needed for the following day, Tuesday, by RM Special guaranteed next day before 1pm delivery service, together with four items by standard RM Tracked 48hr service. They were all collected at 11am on Monday with confirmation emails. I received emails this morning to say that the RM Tracked 48 hr parcels would be delivered tomorrow, Wednesday, which is what I expected, but no information on the Special delivery parcel until this evening when I was told it also would be delivered tomorrow. A wasted extra £8.75 postage as the item was needed today and not delivered . Have other sellers had this experience? The postage cost is reclaimable but I am annoyed on behalf of the buyer.

RM add an extra day to SD items that are collected.
It states :-
For collection from your door, using Parcel Collect, we add an extra working day to our delivery guarantee. Find out more at royalmail.com/collection. If you need the next working day guarantee you can still purchase your Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm postage online, but please to take your item to a Post Office branch prior to the latest acceptance time.

Thanks for the reply - this was not obvious when I booked the delivery. I always use RM directly and need collection as I cannot get to a post office. You are most probably right though - I will have to sort this out with the buyer and offer a refund, with a return of the item if he/she wishes. One lives and learns!
