I have tried to buy a vintage hat from UK. The seller informs that he posts to all EU. EBay, however, tells me that the seller does not (post to Finland). I have contacted the seller and exchanged several mails with him. He has confirmed that he is willing to post the hat. Both of us have also exchanged mails with eBay. The problem seems impossible to solve or to understand. eBay continues to claim that the seller does not post to EU. Seems ridiculous to keep up a market place where the seller can not sell nor the buyer buy.
I have also tried other sellers (as eBay recommends). With some sellers the buying seems to work and then with some others not (all these sellers inform that they post to EU). However, I would still like to buy the most suitable hat as I intended to do. Have other buyers/sellers similar experiences? Is there a solution to this?
Have other buyers/sellers

eBay do not receive / answer emails so not sure where you sent those.
Ask the seller to go to their site preferences and put your ID on their Buyer Exemption List, that might work.

If @tressygirl's suggestion does not work then one other option that you could try would be to ask a member of your family or a friend if they could buy the item on your behalf. If somebody agreed to help you in this way then so long as they did not experience the same problems that you have come across the person helping you could just change the delivery address at eBay Checkout manually so that it showed your own name and delivery address instead of their own, and the item would then be posted to you. However, if somebody did help you in this manner and you received the item then when that person next uses eBay to buy something he or she will have to manually change the address details at eBay Checkout back to their own name and address again, as if they do not do so then any further purchases would end up being delivered to you instead of them!
