Bought an item and told item has already been sold.

I bought an item from a seller, they messaged me back and said they had already sold the item on another site and would I like a similar item sent instead. Before I could reply and say no the seller has sent the item I didn’t want and now I can’t get a reply, is there something I could do about this?

When you get it if it's not the same as the original one start a return on here:

select "Doesn't match description" and if necessary escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.    You will receive a postal label paid for by the seller and get a full refund after the item has been returned.
