I paid for a very expensive designer item, with authentication. Within minutes the seller emailed me to say there was a problem with the order asking me to cancel. I refused since the funds had already gone from my account and told them that as the seller they needed to cancel and refund me. The item on eBay is now showing as “cancellation pending” so looks as though they cancelled. The seller is not replying to my messages and I still haven’t received my refund which is over 1,000 pounds. I feel sick to my stomach that I have been scammed. I cannot find a telephone number for eBay and when I reported it to eBay I received an AI response that makes no sense whatsoever and even worse I cannot reply to it. I now don’t know what to do, or how to get my refund.

If the transaction has been cancelled you will get your money back. If it hasn't wait until the estimated delivery date on the listing has passed then select "Report an item you didn't receive" on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/get-help-item-hasnt-arr...
And escalate to eBay after 3 complete working days.

If the seller has cancelled the sale then you will automatically be refunded.
Unfortunately, there is no way to force them to go through with the sale but it is very bad form on their part.
If the seller uses 'Out of stock/damaged' as the reason for cancelling then they will automatically receive a defect on their account. If they use any other reason then you can report that to eBay to ensure that they are correctly penalised.
The only other thing that you can do is to leave appropriate feedback but remember to keep it polite, factual, and to the point. Something like 'seller failed to honour the sale' is sufficient.

Thankyou for your help. A refund is now showing as pending. Original item was £1300 but the refund is £71.15 short. I did not cancel the Seller did after I paid. The item was never posted. I don’t understand why I have been charged £71.15 and there doesn’t appear to be anyway I can contact eBay to rectify. The seller has been in contact and says she never received the funds as they were showing as on hold. I don’t understand what’s happened to my £71.15. This does not seem at all fair

You need to contact eBay Customer Services about this.
They have access to both accounts, and can see and explain what has happened here.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open, as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
