Marking an untracked item as delivered

Hi community,

Does anyone know if buyers can mark an untracked item as DELIVERED?

I received the item  and also got a delivery confirmation email from the courier),  and promptly left a review for the seller, but the item is still marked as DISPATCHED and Ebay is not releasing the funds to the seller. 

The seller said they read buyers may have this option (marking the item as delivered), but I cannot find it anywhere in the item details page.

I'd really would like to help them to get their payment quickly, as I had an excellent experience with them.

There is no way that buyers can mark as delivered.   It's only done by the online tracking.   Without that the seller will get the money but it may be held for up to 30 days.

Or, in layman's parlance: just another eBay Money grubbing wheeze"   Now ebay can hold monies back for how so ever long they choose.  Example/guff?  "Money available 14 Feb".  Reality?  Paid 17th Feb.  How is that fair, legal even?  private sellers leaving in droves.  Ebid, anyone?

So @ebay if my buyer has provided positive feedback on an untracked item, when can the funds not be released then, like your competitor Vinted does?

Having same issue. Item I sold 26th Feb delivered to customer 27th and feedback received so all good.

Money still held as no way of showing delivered.

Come on eBay why can’t you look at feedback then release as been suggested earlier.

20 plus years and this blatant holding of funds is not the way forward.

Previously funds were released within days and I understand why this has been done to follow vinteds lead but where is all the interest on funds being held going. Plus moneys from buyer protection payments (worth it).

A nice little earner.

Please ebay just tweak this a bit so that the seller feels valued and don’t start looking elsewhere to sell, if they haven’t already.

Had the same issue. My payment withheld automatically for 14 days by eBay. If I had sent the small item tracked, or tracked items in general, eBay pays up. For untracked the wait is 14 days. The system is stupid. I contacted an agent about how stupid this is. So, even if the buyer leaves feedback the same day as receiving the item the wait is still 14 days for untracked items, apparently in case there is an issue! But tracked items are totally different process, it is assumed by eBay that a tracked item will have no issues. To send a small item tracked is obviously more expensive, and one has to decide if it is worth it to get the payment quicker. My thinking is that eBay will soon introduce an extra cost for printed labels as only method of postage, then whatever postage costs on top.

Same problem.  This is the first time in ages that I've sold anything on eBay, but I thought for this item I'd like to sell to a wider audience than, e.g. FB marketplace. Now I wish I hadn't bothered and just sold it locally for less. Pretty sure this will be the last thing I sell on this platform, there's so many more layers of admin and intrusive hand-holding nowadays than in the quite recent past.

Experiencing the same issues as other posters here. Courier has confirmed delivery by email (tracked item) and the buyer has posted a +ve review saying he's very pleased with the item yet eBay shows it only as 'dispatched' and witholding payment. I agree with the interpretation that this is just a scam by eBay as there's no resolution mechanism for this kind of situation.

I’m sure I read in some announcement that from mid March items under £25 sent untracked will have money released in 8 days after buyer leaves positive feedback 

but I can’t find it now

I have to agree with others, this new system needs looking at. I now have hundreds of pounds unavailable to me due to the tracking not confirming it has been delivered. Looks like I will have to wait at least another week plus until I can gain access to the funds even though the item has been delivered safe and sound. The option for a buyer to confirm it has been delivered needs to be added to speed up the process of the seller getting their funds.

Get the buyer to send a message the seller with a photo of the item stating they have received it, buyer contacts eBay and asked to have that item changed to delivered

Having the same issue here, 
sold item, ebay postal options didnt accept the buyers address. My buyer confirmed his address so I posted it via royal mail.

The buyer has received the item but has no way of Marking the item as arrived and ebay are holding my funds with no way of either of us entering tracking or marking as delivered. 

New system is terrible.

I am having the same problem.  Buyer contacted me to say the items are for their mother's Birthday in 2 days.   Due to Bank holiday, delivery by 24 hour tracked could not be guaranteed so I made a journey to deliver in person.  Buyer is over the moon, has left positive feedback and confirmed in email that they have been delivered but because they cannot put as delivered they are still showing as dispatched and I have to wait another 2 weeks before receiving payment.  Ebay need to rectify this and allow a buyer to mark as delivered and funds released, or should be looked into by Standards Authority for witholding payments / profiteering.

As a seller sometimes we go beyond to meet the buyers expectations as you
have just proved. Why ebay can't adapt there criteria to acknowledge this
and pay once the buyer confirms happy via feedback is beyond me. Simply a
means of making extra money via interest due to not charging fees due to
competition from minted etc.

so are untracked items no longer marked as delivered by eBay/rm link as they used to be? At least for parcels
