Original tracking data wiped out & not updating deliveries on items posted on Monday 13th

Anyone else noticed that ? ebay/Royal Mail link broken ???

 

ALL items posted on Monday the 13th via Royal Mail Tracked 48 had their tracking data since removed & not updating, showing ebay message "Running behind"  or "Not posted" on items that either were already delivered or are due to delivery today. 

I always check the tracking after  business collections & all the tracking data was there on the day of dispatch but since this morning all the original tracking has gone. 

There are a few threads on seller central but not on business boards.

 

Example in case any ebay's employee is passing by this thread & can inform the tech team,

As soon as i received feedback my funds were available for withdrawal and the money took minutes to reach my bank.

No change in eBay status for my earlier orders🙄, but quite amazingly 2 items that were collected by RM yesterday were delivered today! I didn't even know they did Sunday deliveries. No sales since Friday though and this is the 1st weekend this has happened, but I don't know whether this is 'Late Delivery restrictions' kicking in or if it is normal for post-Christmas.

Tomorrow is the 20th though, so I guess we will see what happens on the Seller Stats update.

Yesterday, we re-uploaded all the 600 tracking numbers that have been delivered but were not showing on ebay as delivered, and all 600 have now been marked as delivered with no impact to date of any defects on our account; sales have maintained a normal level, bear in mind it is the middle of the month, so people who only get paid monthly are less likely to buy.

oh that sounds great (albeit a massive amount of work for you) - how did you reupload your tracking numbers? did you go into each order 1 by 1 and reinput it somehow? if so, then I'm going to do the same this evening. thx

Hi, we had to do it individually; all we did was copy the tracking number, delete it for where it was, and click somewhere else on the screen. Then ebay says you have to enter a tracking number, copy it back in and save it; some can take 5 minutes to update, and some can take an hour.

 

I must say that if, later down the line, it goes as a defect against you for late delivery, you would have to contact ebay. Still, having said that, if it was delivered within the time frame, that is proof enough that it was dispatched on time; you can't have a parcel delivered before you even sent it.

 

This is only what we did; anyone who copies it does it at their own risk.

Yes thanks for that I may give it a try as well ( although 300 may take a whilst! )
We shouldn’t really have to - it should be down to eBay to reload the RM files for last week so as to update the orders - yes probably too much to ask or expect !!!

It was a ball ache, but after waiting 4 days, I could see nothing would get done, so we just did it; it took 2 of us just under 2 hours to do.

 

So far, so good; I was expecting customers to question this but received no messages from customers, so I can only assume it does not get passed on.

 

As I mentioned, it is just what we did; you must weigh your opinions and decide what is best for your situation.

LOL, it would have been good of them to update everyone there, even if there was no update; it doesn't take a lot. Amazon customer service is on another level; you get their help immediately.

 

Let us know how you get on. Good idea to try it out with the ones you have feedback left on. We made a note of all the ones we updated. If you only have a few to do, maybe screenshot it before and after as well, extra proof if ever needed.

I did it and it worked!!! Even better is that all the dates from purchasing the label through to delivery are now accurately showing on eBay - looks just as it is supposed to. It took around 30 mins to update, so be patient if you're going to do this. Thank you so much for all your help, really do appreciate it x

Ok spent my Sunday night going through my 300 orders reinputting Tracking as suggested and as you say most have updated ( not yet an hour for some but hopefully will update by morning).

I am also hoping its in time for my next Evaluation date of 20th (today) and avoid a possible late dispatch metric issue .

 

I mainly use two services RM48 and RM48 Tracked.

It may or may not be part of the problem but I noticed when re entering fully tracked numbers (ending GB) it automatically changed the Courier field to "Royal Mail" with a space in between (previously showing without a space).

However with standard RM48 ( delivery confirmation only) 13 digit numbers it didnt automatically change the courier and I had to manually do them. Ebay support did mention space issue a few days ago but I ignored it as previous orders without space showed as delivered - maybe 13th they changed the coding which then threw these subsequent ones out. 

 

Thanks for your suggestion as it does appeared to have worked - even if only to show customers delivered and cut down on false INRs.

It looks like it's been fixed for now, at least all orders dispatched on the 18th RMT are now all showing the correct detailed tracking & delivery in eBay's order details.  

Unfortunately all orders from the 13th Jan. until the 18th Jan.  have not been updated & still not showing any tracking as originally reported, so this part has not been fixed.

 

I tried to remove & then upload the tracking number for those orders again, as suggested here,  but it did not made any difference & I don't have the time to keep trying.

I quite agree eBay have had hours and hours of my time so far and I have better things to be getting on with. I have been paid so far for all items sold but it would have been easier selling them on a pasting table at the local boot sale.

Those that have re entered tracking info - did you delete the tracking number, which then sets the status to ''dispatch'' and then re enter the tracking number?

I deleted the number, then had to delete 'Royal Mail', then save it, refresh the page, then go back and re-enter the number and it auto-filled 'Royal Mail'. Just a heads up that it's a bit worrying when it pops up in red writing that you haven't posted your item and then takes forever to update/refresh, 3 of mine took overnight.  Be aware also, that the date for 'tracking number provided' is obvs out of sync once you update it, I don't know if that causes any problems with seller stats but will know tomorrow morning when they have re-evaluated us all. Better than sitting and waiting for no movement by eBay though given it's been over a week now.
