Original tracking data wiped out & not updating deliveries on items posted on Monday 13th

Anyone else noticed that ? ebay/Royal Mail link broken ???

 

ALL items posted on Monday the 13th via Royal Mail Tracked 48 had their tracking data since removed & not updating, showing ebay message "Running behind"  or "Not posted" on items that either were already delivered or are due to delivery today. 

I always check the tracking after  business collections & all the tracking data was there on the day of dispatch but since this morning all the original tracking has gone. 

There are a few threads on seller central but not on business boards.

 

Example in case any ebay's employee is passing by this thread & can inform the tech team,

Same for me, 4 parcels posted RM tracked 48 on Monday  now showing nothing but RM tracking page shows all the details.

Agree if you're a buyer looking for your item, but if you're the seller it creates some problems for you.

 

If the original tracking data is now gone then the automated eBay's system judges you that you "failed to post on time" and/or failed to "deliver on time"  & you'll get the " running behind" message & then get late delivery penalties.

The hassle to have to phone CS to remove it, trying to prove it's eBay's glitch, time wasted, etc.etc

 

I think it's worse for private sellers as they cannot get their money payouts if there is no proof of tracked delivery which there wont be if the link between RM & ebays tracking is broken.

 

I never noticed this type of glitch before, were the original tracking data would simply vanish from eBay.  Good that the tracking number wasn't wiped out as well & it's still in the Order Details - so one can click on that link to go to RM site directly, but some buyer are not aware you can do that & just look into ebay tracking alone to get updates.

Where does this leave me in respect to getting my payout for a sold item that has been delivered today but is not showing as delivered on eBay even though Royal Mail tracking confirms it has been? I can see this turning into a real mess with it being seen as a late delivery.

We have the same problem; Royal Mail stated delivery today and yesterday for hundreds of our parcels; however, ebay has not accepted this; all we have is that it was shipped; no update on ebay. I have spoken to ebay concierge with little to no help.

 

Parcels were all dispatched on Monday, 15th January 2024; Royal Mail tracked 48 hours, and tracking was uploaded on dispatch. Well, over 500 parcels were delivered with photo proof, according to the Royal Mail site, and the eBay system only states that they were dispatched.

It will affect you and every other private seller once the " funds held" comes into play and delay your payments further. 

 

I had this happen to me on my small private account last year and l orders which have been delivered ( feedback left and RM shows delivery on their website) are still showing as despatched/ delayed so according to eBay I would be waiting over a month or more for my funds to be released and probably having to " convince" eBay to pay what is rightfully mine. 

 

The  fact that this is happening to successful business platforms is horrendous  - I know that the " funds held" does not apply to them,  but imagine if they did?

 

Honestly , at times I feel like I am dealing with a sub-standard platform and not a leading online marketplace?

I have this problem as well.  2 items dispatched (post booked) on Sunday 12th, picked up by Royal Mail on Monday 13th, and both delivered today (Wednesday 15th).  Both have full tracking and delivery photos on Royal Mail website, but eBay just states "Tracking Number Provided".

 

I also have a further 9 items dispatched in 3 orders, Dispatched (post booked) on Monday 13th, picked up by Royal Mail yesterday (Tuesday 14th), and due to be delivered tomorrow (Thursday 16th).  Again, Royal Mail's tracking data is completely up to date, but nothing on eBay.

 

I am a private seller, and whilst I have already been paid for these particular items, that's going to change in February.  If eBay doesn't update the tracking data, I along with many others, are not going to get paid, and we're also going to have our Late Delivery Rates shoot up and our Seller Levels shoot down.  If that happens, complaining to eBay CS won't do any good, because they will just say they won't be able to change anything because everything is controlled by their system algorithms!

 

I'm hoping this is just a very temporary glitch, and not what my cynical side thinks could be eBay "testing out" turning the tracking off so that when the new payment rules start in February, they can hang on to our money for at least another two weeks.  Or maybe a way of forcing sellers to book postage through them rather than directly with Royal Mail or whoever.  It does seem to be a little bit of a coincidence that their tracking is suddenly not working just before they change their private seller rules for payment based purely on tracking.

 

Oh well...

After reading a comment on another thread concerning this problem am I correct in my understanding that even though the tracking isn't being updated as delivered we still get our payout after 14 days rather than the 3 days it would normally be if eBay was getting the correct tracking info from Royal Mail?

Same issue with us for Mondays postings. It happens from time to time. Whilst the main issue is the parcels are in transit and trackable form Royal Mail website, some cusomters dont get that far and just see the eBay lack of updates. We get hassled by customers assuming we are lying about shiping dates and we have to spend the time to refer them to the Royal Mail website to eventually believe us.

 

Just more to add to the true cost of doing business on eBay

Have an image in my head of The Team at eBay towers running round like 3 blind mice , 

trying to sort this delivery confirmation glitch (someone was messing, and broke it) by Feb 4th 

when the speed of the sellers payment will depend on eBay`s delivery confirmation working.

Just to update this is still going on now with items posted on Tuesday & Wednesday in addition to Monday's.

No sign of tracking after the tracking numbers were uploaded within seconds of dispatch & the tracking that was there on earlier items was removed by eBay.

I also noticed this glitch has possibly affected my EDD's as now instead of the usual 2 days it takes to deliver RM48 Tracked, eBay's shows it as 7 days delivery service which is just appalling.

On RM tracking website the item shown above is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, the 17th of January & not next week the 21st Jan. as per eBay's ill advise to my customer.

 

After checking all orders it appears the EDD's have now gone to the other extreme from the usual extra short same/next day delivery for RM48 Tracked to now 7 days delivery for the exact same service ?

RM48 Tracked is 2 days delivery service, not the same/ next day nor 7 days.

Please pass this glitch on to relevant team.

 

As there are now no records of items being delivered on ebay will the sellers be penalised by the late delivery metrics ? with all the associated negative effects such as lower ranking in search etc.

Am I already being punished with the over extended EDD's shown to potential customers & putting them off buying ?

Are tracked data from other couriers similarly affected ? or is it just Royal Mial ?

Well, well. well....

I'm a private seller 👩 and I ALWAYS request a printed out receipt from the Post Office and other carriers from where I post my items from.  I use eBay's 'get postage' for convenience and print out ALL the postage labels myself and keep them and other docs stored on my PC  - no effort whatsoever.  I keep all paper carrier receipts for approx. 6 months should there be an issue.  

 

However, I have noticed that delivery on eBay's site is often not updated but showing as delivered on carriers site, but sometimes not.   What a Kerfuffel !    😵😵😵


Now, regarding eBay's upcoming "confirmed delivery payouts" : this will cause a lot of confusion and anger should eBay's site not work properly.   Well,  if payments are withheld because eBay fails to get their site in order I will definately take further actions ......😡😡😡

According to the Royal Mail system, we currently have over 600 "DELIVERED" parcels. Ebay say all 600 have not been delivered, and there are no updates on the ebay site with regards to tracking; where does that leave sellers with regards to Service Metrics ??

 

Customer service with ebay is terrible; 17 years of experience dealing with ebay, and I should know.

 

Ebay Concierge called me back this morning with an update to say "all fixed" Well it is not, 

 

eBay must check the API requests from Royal Mail for orders to identify why the order delivery statuses are not updating. Has the ebay technical team done this? have ebay asked Royal Mail for "request-response files"?
